Cas’s link below highlights some of the dangers in President Bush’s anti-reality based agenda.

Al Gore recently made a very post-modern assessment of Bush’s mindset, “the president’s contempt for the rule of reason has led him to the genuinely dangerous illusion that reality itself is a commodity he can control.”

I’ve always been fasinated with post-modernism, but politcs are, and should be, a reality-based institution. The United States and other forms of power might have the power to make reality for the world, but should it be any country’s role to consciously control reality without any attemept to examine the “real” world implications of such control?

Politicians should intrinsically be reality-based in decision making, they should not be decision-based in reality making.

Side note:

“Ok back to reality…here comes gravity” Eminem has stated, “Bush is not my homie.” He has also said that he is undecided on who is going to vote for, but it won’t be Bush.

Is Eminem a potential Nader voter?
