Internet is a time sucker
This one goes out specifically to my soon to be hubby. I have long complained about the amount of time we spend with our faces glued to the computer screen, not necessarily doing anything other than surfing to kill time. Devon maintains that it’s better than watching t.v., but i’m not so convinced.
One things for sure, “the internets” allow a lot more independence in learning and information than corporate controlled television networks. Even PBS is pretty limited in how much it can squeeze into a day of programming. An person can get knowledge a lot faster about subjects they’re interested in by surfing than watching.
Right on. The Internet is a much more democratic medium than the television, especially with the rise of blogs and other user-controlled tools. I will certainly miss having access to Lexis-Nexis, Proquest, and my other favorite databases when I graduate (unless I continue this ten year trend of being a full-time student/degree collector! Just kidding Dharma:)
Oh, HAPPY NEW YEAR TO ALL AT IDDREAM.COM!!
