Hey!  We’re not freaks…mostly…er…kind of.  Okay, fine.  We’re freaks.

Clear Channel tested the progressive format in Portland, Ore., last spring. According to the online publication mediaweek.com, ratings at that CC station in the Rose City grew by a jaw-dropping tenfold.

In San Diego — hardly the hotbed of lefty freaks that Portland is — ratings jumped an impressive 75 percent when the format was tried there. And so, faster than you can say profit margin, CC was gettin’ progressive all over the place. In all, CC has brought the format to 22 stations in less than a year.
