For some this was a nice way to complain about Secretary Rice’s performance as the NSA, yet still show spineless fear of Republican backlash. Nice tails you have between your legs.
The following should be commended with your emails or phone calls:
Akaka (D-HI)
Bayh (D-IN)
Boxer (D-CA)
Byrd (D-WV)
Dayton (D-MN)
Durbin (D-IL)

U.S. Senate vote for: Condoleezza Rice, of California, to be Secretary of State
Wow, Stabenow did not follow Levin’s vote. That is surprising, considering the junior senator almost always votes the same as Levin.
From what I understand, much of the direction of this vote came from Harry Reed. Word has it that he is reserving a punch intended for Alberto Gonzalez’s hearing. My question is, though, why not punch twice? There’s no reason to hold back now.
because you can’t keep democrats “on message” for that long! just kidding… well, sort of.
pretty disappointed in kent conrad & byron dorgan (both of ND). & maria cantwell of WA too. & RON WYDEN?! he should be ashamed of himself.
I’m just upset that my man Obama wussed out.
Yeah, me too. I really like Barack Obama. I, like so many others, fell under the spell of his keynote address at the DNC. I even watched his appearance on Oprah just to hear him speak from a more personal point of view. I hoped he would walk into the US Senate with a storm, but no, not even a clap of thunder. I have faith still in many of these Senators that voted Yea for Secretary Rice, but I am seriously disillusioned. Perhaps this is how politics alienates the constituency.
