Reaction to the Grammy Awards?
Did anyone watch the Grammy Awards? If so, what are some of your reactions? I have to admit, I was unfamiliar with a lot of the newer bands. I’m a little surprised Ray Charles won both Record of the Year and Album of the Year. I understand the need to pay respect to the legend, but this might have been a bit much. It was obvious Green Day wasn’t going to win the Album of the Year category (too political of an album?). Whatever. Anyhow, ole Jack White was lookin’ good in his western duds:) (minus the mustache). In any case, here are the winners.

My reaction was just a realization of how sick I am of Black Eyed Peas…They’re everywhere!!! Ahhh, no escape from those attention whores.
Personally, I try and make it a point to avoid the Grammy’s every year (…since Jethro Tull beat Metallica all those years ago…call me a grudge-holder if you will…), but I snuck a peek in because the rest of my family has a mysterious obsession with popular music. I found that I enjoyed Joss Stone’s and Melissa Etheridge’s medley of Janis Joplin songs. Being that I am not a Janis Joplin fan and that I don’t have any particular interest in either singer, this was pretty astounding to me. Kudos go to Melissa Etheridge’s powerful belting in the midst of battling cancer!
