A Clap Your Hands Say Yeah song just played on my random iTunes shuffle. It was followed by a Yo la Tengo tune...it took me 2 minutes to realize that they were different songs. The exact same drumbeat at the same tempo, same minimal drone pop...the only clues I had was when I realized that “(1) this other singer is really taking over the song and (2) the song was really long.”

Like Yo la Tengo, Clap Your Hands Say Yeah give you very little to think about. They are neither good nor bad, but in someway have the ability to capture a sensitivity that is hard to capture. Whether this sensitivity is something worth capturing and interesting at all is up to you. If not, you probablly will yawn and turn off the radio.
