Sub’ Sub’ Sprawl: Sea of Japan – Black Out the Stars
Everyone’s favorite Detroit (Livonia, MI) based indie label has began an “online only subcatalog.” The first album getting the full digital treatment is Sea of Japan’s Black Out the Stars. Swing over and consume the release (featuring guest appearances by members of Blanche, Rescue, The Silent Years, Judah Johnson, Canada, Child Bite, The Word Play, and Zoos of Berlin) in either stream-able or download-able (FLAC, MP3) form.
That “Dogs of War” song is phenomenal! These guys came out of no where. The only person I recognized was that guy who occasionally plays with the Silent Years.
Definitely. This album just shot straight into my top 3 Sub’ Sprawl releases (Rescue’s last album and Those Transatlantics are the other 2). Good stuff.
Yeah, it’s a great album. These guys are down to the earth and they know how to rock.
